John Konsin
As Executive in Residence, Mr. Konsin is helping to develop new service programs for MedPanel. Mr. Konsin has worked for 29 years in medical devices, diagnostics and medical imaging with experience in marketing, business development, sales and operations. He has worked for 3M, Kimberly-Clark, ATL (now part of Philips), Chiron, Accellent and most recently Covidien. Over the past thirteen years he has held both General Management and Global Vice-President positions helping to generate double-digit sales growth and world class operating profit through organic growth & acquisitions. He has been responsible or played a key role in over 500 new product introductions and 10 acquisitions in the Life Science Industry. He is a Board Member of Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center. Mr. Konsin holds a Bachelor of Science from Duquesne University and received his MBA from the University of Colorado.
Peter Litman
Peter Litman (age 57) is Chief Executive Officer of Julia Therapeutics, an early stage medical device company developing a novel, energy-based device for treating skin wrinkles. He is also a member of Outside GC, a group of experienced lawyers who provide part-time general counsel services to businesses. Peter has extensive and varied experience as a business lawyer and senior business executive and a deep background in medical devices and technology. He has served as Vice President, Corporate Development for Smith & Nephew Endoscopy, a world leader in sports medicine; Vice President, Business Development and Marketing for Anika Therapeutics, a world leader in the medical applications of hyaluronic acid; and Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Summit Technology, Inc. formerly a world leader in refractive surgery devices. For many years he was a partner in Goldstein & Manello, a Boston law firm where he built a successful practice representing entrepreneurs, high-technology businesses and acquisition-oriented clients. He currently serves as a member of the Steering Committee for University of Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center (M2D2), a state funded innovation center that assists entrepreneurs in the medical device segment. He received a JD from Columbia University School of Law and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania.
Ajay Agrawal
Ajay Agrawal is the Peter Munk Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management where he teaches courses on strategy, innovation, and entrepreneurship. He is also a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research in Cambridge, MA. Professor Agrawal's research is on the commercialization of early-stage technology, knowledge flow patterns, and regional innovation systems. He has presented his research at a variety of institutions including Harvard University, MIT, Stanford University, and the Federal Reserve Bank. Professor Agrawal has testified as an expert witness before the Canadian Copyright Board, authored policy papers for provincial and federal government agencies in Canada, and advised entrepreneurs and organizations in various fields including robotics, pharmaceuticals, biotherapeutics, intellectual property valuation, digital media, television broadcasting, music performance, software development, wireless, and automotive.
